The Wellness Respite house provides free, intensive, short-term support for individuals experiencing a mental health crisis, as an alternative environment to inpatient hospitalization. The house is staffed 24/7 by people who are trained and experienced in supporting others to transform a crisis into an opportunity for enhancing personal wellness. Staff aim to both inspire hope and assist guests in developing crisis self-management skills, so they can manage their current and future crisis situations. The service focuses on self-care in the areas of sleep and rest, relaxation, nutrition, physical activity, and management of co-occurring medical or substance use issues. Guests can stay at the house for a maximum of 10 days. Alternatively, if there is a waiting list, or if a guest chooses to remain in their home, the service can provide continued contact and outreach for up to one month. Fees: Services are free of cost Eligibility: 1. 18 years of age or older 2. Experiencing a crisis or emotional distress 3. Identifying as living with a mental health or substance use disorder 4.
