Coalition coordinators and members interested in sharing efforts and collaborating may search throughout the state for coalitions working within specific geographic areas and focusing on similar goals. Search for others and add your coalition information to start working smarter across New Jersey! The Coalitions Working Smarter Initiative is designed to promote synergistic opportunities throughout New Jersey. NJPN created the New Jersey Community Health Coalitions Working Smarter Searchable Database thanks to support from New Jersey Health Initiatives, a statewide grant-making program of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. The Coalition for a Healthy NJ, coordinated by the NJPN, works to create healthier communities across New Jersey by building capacity among professionals and community members. Originally funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), through the Community Transformation Grant, the Coalition for a Healthy NJ set a goal to support public health efforts in order to prevent chronic diseases, promote healthier lifestyles, reduce health disparities and control health care spending. Using the framework set by the National Prevention Strategy, the Coalition connects current partnerships and local coalitions that exist throughout the state so that public health works more effectively and efficiently to improve health.
