Focus Children's Therapy Center was developed by Ruth Yaacoby, the owner. Ruth is an OT practicing for over thirty years. Her vision was to create a place that would provide a team approach for every child that stepped into the center. Every child is complex and has many factors influencing him or her, and therefore Ruth created a holistic approach that would take into account the various factors and have the team work together to provide the patient with the most professional and comprehensive overview. Since then, FOCUS has grown and expanded into various different therapeutic fields including ABA, OT, PT, SLP, Psychotherapy, Social Skills and Neuropsycholgical testing.
We are the specialist in Bergen County serving clients privately, through insurance (Amerigroup and Optum) and providing services to the public and private school district.
We host a variety of programs to meet the needs of your child. This fall have Social Skills Groups that run for children between the ages of 5-7 years, 8-10 and 11-14. All groups will be lead by our team psychologist Dr. Yedlin.
We provide a summer camp for children ages 4-11 years. This unique camp is a sensory, social and language based therapeutic camp that is designed and run by our therapists.
Other programs we offer include Judo and Yoga for children with special needs and children that are simply seeing a fun, interactive and athletic program.
Lastly, we offer various lectures in schools (for teachers and parents) along with lectures in the center. These are always free and our way of educating and giving back to the community!
