The Shield Institute continues to fulfill our mission, delivering individualized, comprehensive services to the children and adults we support. Following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Department of Health (DOH), Department of Education (DOE), and Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), The Shield Institute will continue to provide remote and limited in-person, physically-distanced supports and services to meet the operational needs of our organization. At The Shield Institute, our top priority is protecting the health and safety of our communities. We are employing an Agency-wide approach to provide support for families experiencing stressors, such as job loss or food insecurity during this unprecedented time. Together we will weather this difficult period and will call upon every resource available to continue to support New Yorkers with disabilities, their families and our employees
