In 2011, 4,521 incidents of domestic violence were reported to the police in Bergen County. The county’s Alternatives to Domestic Violence Division has made great strides in addressing this violence by creating better services for victims and violators of the law.
Alternatives to Domestic Violence (ADV) is a division of the Bergen County Department of Human Services, which is exclusively devoted to domestic violence intervention.
